The Ophthalmology team identifies and investigates new methods to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate and prevent conditions that cause vision impairment and blindness. Our clinical faculty are highly trained in their specialty areas to deliver the most advanced medical and surgical care available. The global mission of the Department of Ophthalmology is to improve vision care within the Southwest region through exemplary clinical medicine, basic/translational research, and the training of next-generation ophthalmologists.
